Delta Regional Medical Center Selects Mayo Medical Laboratories to Enhance Advanced Laboratory Testing Needs
Delta Regional Medical Center (DRMC), based in Greenville, MS, has selected Mayo Medical Laboratories as its primary reference laboratory. With access to Mayo Medical Laboratories’ extensive menu of laboratory tests and clinical expertise, this partnership enables DRMC to offer advanced testing capabilities to better serve its communities.
“With a combined 372 years of experience from our staff and 1.44 million tests completed last year, we take pride in the level of expertise and dedication we provide our communities,” said Josh Hammons, Director of Support Services, Delta Regional Medical Center. “Mayo Medical Laboratories’ comprehensive laboratory tests and proficiency will enhance our overall value, allowing us to provide the highest quality laboratory testing to Washington County and the surrounding counties.”
DRMC offers testing in all areas, including but not limited to, hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood banking, and serology. Through its affiliation with Mayo Medical Laboratories, DRMC will have access to more advanced diagnostics, newly developed tests, and specialty tests for these areas.
Mayo Medical Laboratories is a global reference laboratory operating within Mayo Clinic’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and offers more than 3,000 tests across the full spectrum of health care subspecialties. As a part of the Mayo Clinic integrated group practice, Mayo Medical Laboratories will enable DRMC to collaborate with 160 Mayo Clinic physicians and scientists and 3,200 laboratory professionals, apply patient care-driven testing approaches, establish clinically proven test-utilization strategies, and advance the integration of community health care delivery.
Specimens taken at DRMC’s inpatient or outpatient testing centers will be transported via air to Mayo Clinic, with test results often available the following day through a computer interface. Additionally, Mayo Clinic physicians and scientists in every specialty laboratory will be available for consultation regarding test selection, utilization and methodologies, and result interpretation.
