SDSC Expansion Grand Opening Draws More Than 1,000
On Tuesday, August 18, the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and local Rochester leadership celebrated the grand opening of the Superior Drive Support Center expansion building. The new addition, located at 3050 Superior Drive NW, will add more than 60,000 gross square feet of clinical laboratory space for DLMP.
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Matt Binnicker, Ph.D., Chair of the DLMP Facilities and Space Committee, em-ceed the event. Also presenting were DLMP Chair William Morice, II, M.D., Ph.D.; Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology Division Chair Alicia Algeciras-Schimnich, Ph.D.; and Vice Chair of Extramural Laboratory Affairs Curtis Hanson, M.D.
Open House
From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., more than 1,000 employees and guests toured the new addition. Two shuttles continuously picked up and dropped off staff from the Hilton Building, and on Wednesday, August 19, a celebration was held in Hilton 700 for those who could not attend the event on Tuesday.
