Mayo Clinic Laboratory and Pathology Research Roundup: March 14
The Research Roundup provides an overview of the past week’s research from Mayo Medical Laboratories consultants, including a featured article of the week, abstracts, and complete list of published studies and reviews.
Featured Study of the Week
Analyzing Renal Complications in Patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or Monoclonal B Lymphocytosis
Renal complications in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or monoclonal B lymphocytosis (MBL) are relatively common. However, the cause of renal failure in these patients is unclear. To better understand renal insufficiency, Mayo Clinic researchers reported the pathological findings and outcomes of a series of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia or monoclonal B lymphocytosis followed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, who underwent a kidney biopsy during the course of their disease. The study was published in the Haematologica journal.
