PathWays Case Study for May 17
A 27-year-old woman complains of mild back and shoulder pain for several months. In the past few weeks, she has developed dyspnea, cough, fatigue, weight loss, and decreased appetite. Chest X-ray showed opacification of the right hemithorax, and follow-up CT showed a 20 cm pleural-based lung mass involving the right chest. Large areas of cystic change or necrosis are noted on imaging. Core biopsy of the mass was performed (see photomicrographs).
