    Overview

This comprehensive program is designed to supplement your hospital’s phlebotomy training and education. It focuses on the entire phlebotomy venipuncture process, including information on phlebotomy supplies, patient safety and patient identification.

This accurate and relevant training is valuable to your phlebotomy staff. It also gives you the opportunity to share this up-to-date information with phlebotomists in your community.

    Objectives

After participating in this program, participants should be able to:

    • Explain the importance of safety for both the patient and the phlebotomist in the phlebotomy collection
    • Identify the importance of positive identification of the patient and the collected sample
    • Describe preanalytical conditions that will affect a phlebotomy collection
