Mayo Clinic Consultants Selected as CAP Committee Chairs
The College of American Pathologists (CAP) Board of Governors has selected the following three Mayo Clinic consultants from the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology for chair responsibilities in 2017.

Bobbi Pritt, M.D.
Dr. Pritt has been selected as Chair of the Microbiology Resource Committee. This is Dr. Pritt’s seventh year on this committee; last year, she served as incoming chair, and prior to this, she had been a member on the committee for 6 years. Dr. Pritt has also served for four years as a junior member on two other CAP committees—Internet Editorial Board and Information Science and Technology Committee.

R. Ross Reichard, M.D.
Dr. Reichard has been selected as Chair of the Forensic Pathology Committee. Dr. Reichard has been a committee member for five years and previously served as lead editor for continuing medical education (CME) activities. Dr. Reichard’s role provides biannual CME opportunities and addresses other forensic pathology-related topics.

Dong Chen, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Chen has been selected as Chair of the Coagulation Resource Committee. He has served as vice chair of this committee for the past four years. This committee will be working to improve CAP proficiency-testing practices and drafting and revising the coagulation-related CAP checklist, education, and outreach to improve the quality and safety of coagulation testing.
