This presentation offers an educational overview of autoimmune central nervous system (CNS) disorders, evaluations (including antibody testing), and treatments.

Andrew McKeon is from Dublin, Ireland. He obtained his medical degree from the University College Dublin (2000). He undertook internal medicine and neurology training in Ireland, which he completed at Mayo Clinic as a fellow in movement disorders and then autoimmune neurology. He became a consultant at Mayo Clinic in 2009, with a joint appointment in the Departments of Neurology and Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. He is Co-Director of the Neuroimmunology Laboratory. He is a Professor of Neurology and an Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in the College of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He is certified by the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology. Dr. McKeon’s research and clinical interests pertain to the evaluation and treatment of patients with autoimmune CNS disorders.

Intended Audience

This webinar is designed for any provider who sees patients with a neurologic disease (e.g., neurologists, psychiatrists, primary care physicians including internists and family care practitioners) as well as pathologists, laboratory directors, and laboratory sendout coordinators.
