Overview

Numerous studies have demonstrated the correlation between performance and organizational culture. The results conclude that a healthy culture directly and positively affects quality, service, engagement, and outcomes. Every organization has some sort of culture because it is an organization of human beings—a social system. Culture refers to the beliefs, behaviors, and characteristics that permeate an organization. It defines what the organization considers important and describes what it feels like to work there. Culture provides collective conscience and group identity. Culture has a powerful effect on how people work together. Effective leaders don’t just let culture happen. They inspire a shared culture vision and guide strategy and action to build a desired culture.
