Overview

This “Continual Improvement Webinar” will provide an overview of Mayo Clinic Laboratories' approach to the pursuit of operational excellence utilizing Lean principles. Presenters will discuss why this approach has been adopted, provide background on the Lean improvement framework, and discuss how the organization will be impacted as the strategy evolves.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize Lean adaption approach utilized at Mayo Clinic Laboratories.
  • Describe basic concepts of Lean and differences from traditional management thinking.
  • Review common Lean tools and their purpose.

This webinar is appropriate for laboratory administrators and managers, quality assurance and control staff, supervisors, and other laboratory personnel who are dedicated to continuous quality and process improvement.
