Featured Abstract
A Potentially Volatile Situation
A 28-year-old man whose relationship with his girlfriend and job both ended abruptly was found unconscious on the kitchen floor of his apartment by the landlord. He had a medical history of diabetes mellitus (type I) and multiple hospitalizations for depression and chronic alcohol abuse. EMS (emergency medical services) was called and he was transferred to the emergency department.
