Hurricane Idalia: Operations update

As Hurricane Idalia moves through the Southeast, we continue to monitor and track the situation with our logistics partners to minimize challenges. Clients should expect to be contacted directly by couriers should any routes be modified or canceled.

The Mayo Clinic Laboratories Florida location will resume normal operations on Thursday, Aug. 31. Shipments from today, Aug. 30 will be routed to Rochester as planned, and shipments will return to the normal Jacksonville route schedule starting tomorrow, Aug. 31.

Hurricane Idalia is expected to impact Florida on Wednesday, Aug. 30. We are monitoring and tracking the situation with our logistics partners to minimize challenges.  

The Mayo Clinic Laboratories Florida location will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30. The location is expected to resume normal operations on Thursday, Aug. 31. 

Mayo Clinic Laboratories clients in the Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville, FL regions: To protect patient specimens during this time, we ask that you begin holding your specimens today, Aug. 29 and do not resume shipping until Thursday, Aug. 31.  

Mayo Clinic Laboratories clients in all other regions that send testing to the Florida campus: During this time, specimens will be diverted to Rochester, Minnesota, and you do not need to take any action. Additionally, the test turnaround time should not be impacted.
