Patient information

Clarify the unknown

Understanding your active disease status and preventing disease flares are crucial to maintaining a good quality of life. Not only are disease flares painful and fatiguing, even mild or moderate flares heighten the risk for lasting organ damage.1

Accurately defining disease activity and flare risk can highlight whether your condition is well managed or requires treatment modifications.

LUPUS Testing

About our testing

Mayo Clinic Laboratories’ new lupus testing, offered in collaboration with Progentec Diagnostics, assesses certain biological indicators, or biomarkers, in the blood to characterize disease activity. Used in place of traditional lupus tests, our tests provide important additional information about the immune system not available through traditional tools. This enables more precise results about your disease state.

In addition, access to accurate information about current and forthcoming disease activity can support your well-being by promoting proactive disease management and preemptive treatment that prevents organ damage.

Options for testing

Identify current disease activity

The Progentec aiSLE® DX Lupus Disease Activity Index assay measures a set of biomarkers in the blood to accurately establish your underlying disease state and clarify if you have active disease or low disease activity.

Predict disease flares

The Progentec aiSLE® DX Lupus Flare Risk Index measures a set of biomarkers in the blood to calculate a flare risk index, which assigns a score associated with your risk of a forthcoming flare. The index score predicts the risk of clinical disease flare over the next 12 weeks.
