Mayo Clinic Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Donates Books for Pediatric Patients

Mayo Clinic Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology staff members in Rochester generously donated more than 500 books during a collection effort last month. The books were donated to the Pediatrics Unit to be used as part of a Mayo Clinic Volunteer Program. This program provides approximately 400 books per week to patients visiting Pediatrics located in the Mayo Building.

The Mayo Clinic Volunteer Program provides many services to patients such as guided tours, wayfinding, library services, and patient and visitor services. The group’s mission—to provide help and comfort to patients and their families across the Mayo Clinic campus through compassionate, supportive volunteers—portrays the primary mission of Mayo Clinic: The needs of the patient come first.

A special thank you to everyone involved in this effort.
