Do you know someone who recently graduated from high school? How about someone looking to follow a new career path? Ask him or her to consider the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS) 10-week Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program as a future educational option and career-growth opportunity.

The MCSHS is awarding full tuition scholarships for students accepted into the October cohort. Application deadline is Wednesday, September 6. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to join the growing field of phlebotomy. Any scholarship recipient who successfully completes the program, and if hired as a Mayo Clinic phlebotomist, is expected to a give a two-year commitment to that role.

About the Program:

  • MCSHS admits up to 15 students to its Phlebotomy cohorts every 11 to 12 weeks.
  • The Phlebotomy Program provides medical education knowledge along with patient-care experience.

About the Profession
Phlebotomy technicians work with other professionals in hospital and outpatient environments to collect and prepare blood samples for laboratory testing as part of the patient-care team. Phlebotomists have the opportunity to work with patients of all ages. Many technicians expand their skill sets over time and take those talents with them into other careers at Mayo such as nursing.
