Holiday Specimen Shipment

Due to the Christmas holiday (recognized on Wednesday, December 25) and the New Year's holiday (recognized on Wednesday, January 1), Mayo Clinic Laboratories' specimen pickup and delivery schedules will be altered. To ensure that your specimen vitality and turnaround times are not affected, plan ahead and note:

• FedEx shipments tendered on Tuesday, Dec 24 and Dec 31, will be delivered on Thursday. Because the midweek holiday will only cause a 24-hour delay, we will have our Mayo Clinic Laboratories couriers pick up samples of all temperatures.

• Delta Airline flights will run as normal on Tuesday and Wednesday, though airports will be congested with holiday travelers.

• Aviation Solutions Group (ASG) will maintain regular North Dakota, South Dakota, Chicago, and Detroit schedules on Monday night and will close on Tuesday.
• ASG will maintain regular North Dakota, South Dakota, Chicago, and Detroit schedules on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
• All "New England" Mayo Clinic Laboratories couriers will consolidate Tuesday PM samples and ship early Wednesday morning by Delta Airlines.
• Couriers who send samples to Jacksonville will ship as normal.
• FedEx and UPS will not make pickups or deliveries on Wednesday, December 25, and Wednesday, January 1.
• Mayo Clinic Laboratories couriers will not make pickups on Wednesday, December 25, and Wednesday, January 1.
• Normal pickup and delivery schedules will resume on Thursday, December 26, and Thursday, January 2.
