Highlighting Mayo Clinic Laboratories' innovative approach to autoimmune neurology testing

Representatives from Mayo Clinic’s Neuroimmunology Laboratory will attend the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Summer Conference: Autoimmune Neurology and Neurology Year in Review in San Francisco on July 15-16 to share with attendees Mayo Clinic Laboratories’ pioneering approach to autoimmune neurology testing.

Held in person as well as virtually, the conference will highlight the latest updates in the science and education of autoimmune neurology — one of the most rapidly evolving fields in modern neurology. This one-of-a-kind conference opportunity will feature didactic lectures, hands-on experiences, case-based presentations, and more.

While at the conference, our autoimmune neurology testing experts will showcase the testing methodologies used by Mayo Clinic to identify, stratify, and guide treatment decisions for individuals with immune-mediated neurological conditions. The unique relationship that exists between Mayo Clinic’s Neuroimmunology Laboratory, research laboratory, and clinical laboratory ensures access to the industry’s most cutting-edge testing. Not only do we offer a growing menu of clinically relevant antibody testing, much of which is exclusively available at Mayo Clinic Laboratories, but we were the first laboratory to introduce comprehensive, phenotypic-specific evaluations to diagnose paraneoplastic neurologic autoimmune disorders. We offer a profile specifically designed for pediatric patients and continue to discover and clinically validate novel antibody profiles that inform decision-making and guide the search for cancer.

Our comprehensive autoimmune testing menu includes testing for:

  • Dementia
  • Encephalopathy
  • Epilepsy
  • Movement disorders
  • Myasthenia gravis and Lambert-Eaton syndrome
  • Myelopathy
  • Necrotizing myopathy
  • Neuropathies
  • Pediatrics
