Optional MFA for Mayo Clinic Laboratories applications coming soon

Mayo Clinic Laboratories is committed to security and to protecting your information. As part of this commitment, we will implement an optional two-step login process for Mayo Clinic Laboratories applications called Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This process is like the two-step login process used by many other apps and provides an extra layer of security.

How it works

On October 10, when you log in to MayoClinicLabs.com, MayoLINK, or MayoACCESS, you will be given the opportunity to use this two-step process. If you opt in to MFA, you will be sent a code or receive a phone call each time you log in to your account to complete the process. If you choose to opt out, you will always have the option to opt in later.

If you opt in, you will be asked to provide a designated phone number so that Mayo Clinic Laboratories can text you a verification code or call you at that number. If you select the text option, follow the on-screen instructions to enter the code, and you will be logged in to your account. If you choose to receive the phone call, follow the prompts in the recording to complete authentication.

Please note that some organizations may require their staff members to use multi-factor authentication. Therefore, you should verify with your organization's IT security group whether MFA is mandatory for your organization.
