23rd International Surgical Pathology Symposium

Overview

The 23rd International Surgical Pathology Symposium addresses common and uncommon diagnostic dilemmas encountered within surgical pathology practice. Prior to the symposium, participants will have the opportunity to review clinical histories, examine digital images, and formulate differential diagnoses. Case discussions highlight pathologic findings that characterize entities within the differential diagnoses.

During the four-day conference, 37 cases will be presented and discussed along with important surgical pathology practice issues and concerns. Three to four specialty areas will be featured each day, including:

Learning objectives

Upon completion of the conference, participants should be able to:

  • Identify and resolve common diagnostic dilemmas.
  • Interpret appropriate ancillary tests for study cases.
  • Enumerate treatment options of each case diagnosis.
  • Integrate diagnostic, clinical, and pathologic challenges within pathologist/clinician communication.

The registration fee includes tuition, conference syllabus (provided within a conference app/accessible online), break refreshments, daily lunch, and symposium reception and dinner. Although it is not the policy of the Mayo Clinic Laboratories Education Department to limit the number of participants, conference room facilities may necessitate closing of enrollment; therefore, early registration is strongly advised.
