Post-conference bicycle trip - Ireland - County Clare

May 12–21, 2024

Corcomroe Abbey
Ir Cliffs
Thatch
The Pulnabrone Stone

Hindriks Global Bicycle Tours is organizing a 10-day post-conference bicycle tour through Western Ireland. We’ll cycle in the County Clare region, between the Galway Bay and the Shannon River.

On this trip, we are never far from the ocean. Our initial route is between the Shannon River and the Atlantic Ocean, where the views are magnificent. Later on, we’ll cycle north to the Burren area, a stunning region marked by impressive limestone rock formations. We’ll end inland and visit the attractive historical market town of Ennis. With its medieval monasteries and megalithic monuments, its cliffs and coastlines, and its welcoming culture, Ireland is sure to be a great experience.

Accommodations are excellent, with mainly 4-star ratings. Hotels are located in an attractive historical village/town or scenic setting. Overnight stays will be in Kilkee, Spanish Point, Lisdoonvarna, Ballyvaughan, and Ennis.

The riding is easy to moderate. We’ll cycle predominantly through slightly rolling and flat terrain, though the wind can blow. The trip is designed to have the prevailing winds to be tailwinds (unfortunately this cannot be guaranteed). Daily distances are between 25 and 35 miles. Trip is 10 days/9 nights. The trip begins at Shannon Airport and Limerick train station on Sunday, May 12. The trip ends on Tuesday, May 21, after breakfast in the hotel in Ennis.

Trip price $5,800 based on double occupancy, with a single supplement of $750. PAP (power-assisted-pedaling) electric bicycles are available for a surcharge of $250. Bus transfers, hotel accommodations, all breakfasts, five dinners, bike rental (Giant Aero RS1), entrance fees to selected sights, bicycle guides, and support van are included with this price. The trip runs Sunday, May 12, until Tuesday, May 21. For more information, email Herman at Hindriks Bicycle Tours: herman@hindrikstours.com.
