Kelly DuBois recently joined “Symptomatic: A Medical Mystery Podcast” to explain her health journey with Mayo Clinic. In the episode, Kelly, who faced a series of unexplained health issues over two decades, highlighted the help that Mayo Clinic was able to offer her after being misdiagnosed with acromegaly.

At Mayo Clinic, Kelly came under the care of Eric Matey, Pharm.D., BCACP, who identified her issues were due to polymorphisms that were affecting her body’s ability to metabolize medications. Adjusting her treatment based on these findings led to significant improvements in Kelly’s health, including substantial weight loss and a return to her former self.
