Leadership from the Mayo Clinic Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Surgical Pathology Fellowship Program are pleased to announce the selection of Rosalind (Rose) Sharain, M.D., and Nooshin Karamzadeh Dashti, M.D., as Chief Fellows for the Surgical Pathology Fellowship Program for the academic year 2017–18.
Chief fellows act as key leaders for the fellowship program. The chiefs work as a team to provide leadership and support of the key missions of the program and function as key mentors and advocates for their peers. They help coordinate schedules for coverage and conferences, serve as representatives at key leadership meetings where they will bring forth feedback from their peers, are involved in recruitment and interviews of future colleagues, and many other items to ensure the program continues to run smoothly.
About Dr. Rose Sharain
Dr. Sharain is a fourth-year resident with a focus on surgical pathology. She completed her medical training at Loyola University in Chicago and graduate training at Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.
Dr. Sharain is a member of many societies including the College of American Pathologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
About Dr. Nooshin Karamzadeh Dashti
Dr. Karamzadeh Dashti is a fourth-year resident with a focus on bone and soft tissue pathology. She completed her medical training at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. Dr. Karamzadeh Dashti completed a fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center followed by a residency and fellowship at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Karamzadeh Dashti is a member of many academic societies including the Iran Medical Council, American Medical Association, College of American Pathologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the International Society of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology.
