Mayo Clinic Laboratories offers pathologists more than 300 immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) stains for technical-only ordering. These stains can be ordered independent of Mayo Clinic pathology consultation, allowing local pathologists the opportunity to review the immunophenotypic profile on a full spectrum of diseases and provide their own professional interpretation.
Our large internal practice and extramural consultation services, totaling more than 100,000 cases each year, enables us to validate and offer many cutting-edge and rarely used stains.
Mayo Clinic Laboratories offers consultations for complex renal pathology cases to assist in evaluating and managing patients with kidney disease. Consultations enable nephrologists to follow the progression of known kidney disease or response to therapy and determine the cause of dysfunction in a transplanted kidney.
Our consultative practice strives to provide the highest quality diagnostic consultative service, balancing optimal patient care with a cost-conscious approach that supports the rapid turnaround time for diagnostic results.
