Notifications Updates

Updates to Notifications

The account number associated with each rule will now be displayed on the NOTIFICATION RULES landing page. This is in preparation for displaying rules for multiple account numbers.

Updates to Notifications

Clients who manage Notification Rules will receive an email (sample below) when a rule for their account(s) contains an obsolete Test ID.

Clicking the link in the email prompts you to sign in and then displays the rule containing the obsolete Test ID:

You can then clone the rule to receive notification emails when results are available for the replacement Test ID.

Updates to Notifications

The enhanced user interface enables more complex rules for Notifications. With this user interface, you can define rules that send email notifications for multiple conditions. For example, you can send email notifications when results are available for either Test ID CAT or Test ID DOGD ordered by either Dr. Who or Dr. Bones.

Updates to the TEST NOTIFICATION RULE page

The TEST NOTIFICATION RULE page now includes a Report column. This column contains a link to the report for the order if one is available.

Some existing columns on the TEST NOTIFICATION RULE page have been combined:

  • The Order Information column combines the Order Number and Accession Number.
  • The Patient Information column combines Patient Name and Medical Record Number.

UPDATE link for Obsolete Test IDs

When available, users can click the TEST UPDATE link to view information about the obsolete Test ID, including any recommended alternative tests.

Updates to Notifications

Ability to CLONE a rule that contains an obsolete Test ID from the NOTIFICATION RULE DETAILS page

On the NOTIFICATION RULE DETAILS page, users can clone a Notification Rule containing an obsolete Test ID to create a new rule using the replacement Test ID. The original rule will continue to send notification emails until all orders for the test with the obsolete Test ID are complete.

Updates to Notifications

Users can export the results of testing a rule as a CSV file by clicking the "EXPORT TO CSV" button highlighted below.

Updates to Notifications

Users will be able to create notification rules using the Data Field value of "Report Type" to send email notification when Supplemental or Referral test results are available.

The sort and column selection functionality of the Test Notification Rule table has been updated.

Updates to Notifications

The May 30 release includes updates to Notifications. We appreciate your ongoing feedback!

The account number and the obfuscated order number now display in the Test Results Available email subject line. The link in the email body will also contain the obfuscated order number.

The Condition to Match and Value to Match fields are not displayed until user selects an option in the Data Field drop-down list.

The Condition to Match defaults to Matches exactly when the user selects any of the following options in the Data Field drop-down list.

Updates to Notifications

The following outlines the May 1 updates to Notifications. If you have additional feedback, please share it with our team.

Test Comments has been removed from Data Field options

Test Comments are handled the same as Results Comments. If a rule is defined to trigger on text in Results Comments, it will send an email if that text appears in either Test Comments or Results Comments.

Clicking the icon next to the Data Field displays information about the condition options

Notification Rules that contain obsolete Test IDs are highlighted

Users cannot create or update rules that contain obsolete or invalid Test IDs. The User Guide will contain more information, if needed.

Clients can create Notification Rules to send emails when test results are available for:

  • All Orders (formerly Account): sends emails when test results are available for any order under this account.
  • Manual orders: sends emails when test results are available for any orders that were entered manually in MayoACCESS as opposed to the interface.
  • Unsolicited orders: sends emails when test results are available for any orders that were entered by Mayo (for example orders submitted using the downtime process) as opposed to manually in MayoACCESS or through the interface.
  • Unsolicited tests: sends emails when test results are available for any tests that were added to the order, including reflex tests.
