Single test for COVID-19 and influenza now available to all providers

Feb. 4, 2021

Mayo Clinic Laboratories now offers multiplex testing for SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) and influenza A and B to all health care providers.

The test, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) RNA and Influenza Virus Type A and Type B RNA Detection (Test ID: COFLU), is used to detect and differentiate between COVID-19 and influenza A and B in a single test using upper respiratory tract specimens. Test results should always be considered in the context of a patient’s clinical history, physical examination, and epidemiologic exposures when making the final diagnosis.

Mayo Clinic Laboratories also has a full menu of COVID-19 molecular tests, serology tests, and other COVID-19-related testing.
