Presented by Mayo Clinic Laboratories and Mayo Clinic’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, the 8th Annual Forensic Science Symposium is designed for medical examiners, coroners, death investigators, county attorneys, funeral directors, crime technicians, and law enforcement officers interested in forensic science.
The symposium will cover a variety of topics, including drug overdoses in the opioid epidemic, forensic anthropology, and lean management in the autopsy laboratory. Attendees will also be able to view real-world case studies involving injuries from various heights, car seat asphyxiation, and more.
Upon completion of the conference, participants will have a better understanding of how to integrate techniques of lean management within the laboratory; differentiate between injuries sustained from various heights; identify findings relevant in asphyxiation fatalities; recognize drug overdose cases in the community; and describe the unique details of opioid-related overdoses.
