Overview

This module focuses on mycology with common molds found in the clinical laboratory. The user will learn the terminology, media, and stains used for identifying common molds through visual examples to help the learner differentiate between the different species.

Learning objectives

  1. Define common terms, media, and stains used in mycology.
  2. Recognize morphological characteristics of common fungi.
  3. Differentiate between species of molds from the same genus.
